“As a conceptual artist, I try to create art with an open mind and childlike enthusiasm. Once I decide on the concept, I express it with various materials, preferably water-soluble supplies, recycled and upcycled items. As I work in series, my effort is to create an evocative visual narrative that captures current issues. My work not only expresses my observation of current events but also communicates the collective emotion we feel as a society while leaving it up to individual interpretation. My inspiration comes from my life on the coast of North Carolina, my travels, and many years of working in Manhattan and visiting the SOHO art district.” - CBF
